You are a local musician who a lot of kids in DIY punk scenes listen to and respect. You çan say “it’s not serious” because it doesn’t affect you, but it affects trans*people and their immediate safety. However, you proceeded to delete it when people started initiating a serious discussion. Then you reblogged it with the following comment, essentially mocking me for posting a screenshot on my blog (where I often make posts discussing gender and sexuality) of you ~cyberbullying~ me on Facebook. Here’s what’s going on: you made your initial post in response to me posting a screenshot of you “jokingly” making the Facebook comment, “die cis scum”- a phrase which you know is used by people to retaliate against the institutional violence cispeople perpetuate- and then referencing me by my first and last name, presumably because I’ve called you out on your transphobic bullshit before. If you felt they were, you wouldn’t continue saying “die cis scum” and laughing about. You are perpetuating and encouraging violence against trans*people, implying that the personal threats against their safety that they experience aren’t something that should be taken seriously. Every time you say “die cis scum” for the sake of irony or because you’re “just joking,” that’s what you’re doing. Not taking violence against trans*people seriously isn’t funny though. I really dont know whats going on anymore but i made this post as a joke like it’s not serious so like yall can chill (spoonboy does suck though but some mle songs are dope) The thread was gone by the time I tried to reply to your commentary. I was writing a reply to what you reblogged from this discussion until you deleted it. 63 notes Aug An open response to Sam Ray (aka Ricky Eat Acid), who deleted his original posts in defense of his transphobia:
